Black Eats Color

36×48 Oil on Canvas.

Lesson of the day: Black Eats Color. Black provides contrast. Black provides context. Without black, would you truly be able to appreciate white? Or any color on the spectrum? Even if you could appreciate it, could you experience all of it? Black has its place, and it is useful and needed.

But black can get out of hand. When let loose, black will cover anything, will devour anything. And so it is true in our lives. The black, the darkness, the evil, it is present. And if left unchecked, will devour anything. When you feel the discomfort of too much black, will you stand back and be devoured?
